Non-Linear Movement Method®
Move. Release. Feel. Restore.
Non-Linear Movement Method® is a class similar to a moving meditation practice.
This is a free form movement class where music is played in the background. Classes are hosted on Zoom so that you can practice in the comfort of your own space. I will do a quick intro, and then, cameras will be turned off in order to encourage your journey inwards without the worry of being observed.
As a participant, you will be invited onto a yoga matt, to close your eyes, and feel what kind of movement your body needs. Not Think! but FEEL. Each student will move differently by listening to their own body. The body may need a stretch in a certain area, a shake, a contraction and release of a specific muscle - and so on! It’s all about feeling and listening. It’s about responding to what is being communicated through our physical senses in the present moment.
By doing this, you tap into your internal regulation system. This is an invitation to release stress & anxiety, and create peaceful balance from within.

THIS METHOD HAS MANY DEEP, POWERFUL APPLICATIONS:
1. Calms the nervous system
The demands of our modern life create tension in the body and stress in the mind. NLMM encourages the identification of these pockets of tension and stress. Then, leads you to gently release them through intuitive, non-force movements. The result of this practice is a self guided, unburdening of the nervous system.
As tension, contraction, and stuck emotions are being released, the body begins to experience reality through the lens of clarity. This clarity allows us to feel increased pleasure and well-being in our daily lives, in our connections with others, and in the connection we have with ourself.
2. Releases trauma patterns
One of the results of a traumatic experience is the “freeze” response, a state in which body, mind and emotions are stuck in a state of numbness. Often, “freeze” is falsely perceived as a feeling of “calm/nothing”, when it is actually an inability to release the original experience and process the emotions around it.
NLMM assists in working through the trauma response without having to re-live any event again. It does this by facilitating continued movement, which gently opens the freeze pattern and allows for recognition and release of the underlying emotional and bodily responses.
3. Opens access to bodily wisdom
By emphasizing movement and bypassing the analytical mind/loops of tense thinking, we are able to access our bodies’ natural intelligence. The body becomes highly attuned to all sensations, and can note, react, or release fluidly, without having to work through a traumatic or suppressed backlog.
Our body’s inner voice is rekindled, and we can listen to the knowledge that is naturally rooted in our highest well being and successful survival. Our intuition is strengthened, and we begin to lead life with a balanced heart.
